Session Description: Today’s technology can open up so many avenues for highly enjoyable and creative compositional activities. During this session, you will explore a plethora of tech tools to support composition in your classroom. You are highly encouraged to bring your laptop, iProducts, smart phones, or any other tech device to explore the resources yourself. This session aims to extend you ability to use technology to enhance creative composition experience with student in your classroom.

 

 

Biography: Jesse Rathgeber is a second year doctoral student at Arizona State University. He holds degrees in Music Education at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. Prior to his work at ASU, he taught K-12 music at DeLand-Weldon School District and EC-5 music at Kildeer Countryside School District, both in Illinois. His primary research interests involve exploring the intersections of music creation, technology, and popular music pedagogy through the lenses of disability studies and critical pedagogy.
